Honda Motors is planning to launch a small car called Brio that will be priced below Rs. 5 lakh.
The company showcased the protype model of the car at 27th Thailand International Motor Expo 2010 in Bangkok. Before showcasing the car at the Thailand Motor Expo the company showcased the concept study at Delhi Auto Show. Honda is planning to launch the car in India in December 2011.
The new Brio will be powered by a 3-cylinder 900cc engine that generates a power of 70 bhp. The design and the features of the car have been developed keeping in mind the requirements of the younger generation. Some of the other features that you can expect from the car include high fuel efficiency, easy handling, compact exteriors and many other features that you can expect from a Honda car.
More than 80 percent of the components used in Brio will be made locally. Honda is likely to use its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida and Rajasthan to make Brio in India. The company has made an investment of Rs. 1200 crore in its Rajasthan manufacturing facility that is likely to deliver about 60000 units per annum.
